Just two years after graduating with two masters from Harvard, I was trapped in a toxic, abusive relationship when my father unexpectedly passed away and shortly after, my best friend was murdered on a vacation in Jamaica. To make matters worse, my mother had difficulty coping with her grief and attempted suicide 9 months after my father’s death.

This was the lowest point of my life.

Feelings of isolation, shame and insecurity consumed me as I too found my self contemplating suicide even after giving birth to a beautiful, healthy boy.
